There Will Be Snacks

There Will Be Snacks was a sharing of the r&d work for an Arts Council Wales funded project called Middle Aged Lady Dancing.

An evening of dancing, art and, most importantly, snacks. This was the culmination of some research Familia and I had undertaken looking at aging, gender and dancing. Over 70 people came to celebrate the joys of mid life whilst getting their groove on.

The night was for anyone regardless of gender or age. Anyone who’s ever felt intimidated on the dance floor, or thought a club night isn’t for them, could come and let us convince them otherwise. The first half of the evening was for chatting and snacking, the second was for shaking our stuff with Branwen Munn on the decks. And then we all got home to bed at a sensible time.
