MOVEMENT DIRECTOR

Choreography

Bronwen’s movement practice is shot through with her 3rd culture kid upbringing. Growing up in Arizona and Hong Kong, with a Dad who grew up in Jamaica, she brings an eclectic and playful approach to dance. Work that is silly, sexy, funky and fresh, her choreography never takes itself seriously, but has a lot to say.

Movement Director

Working principally with Familia Bronwen is an instinctive movement encourager. She’s particularly skilled at getting those who don’t feel they are good at moving to move. She combines her knowledge of mental and physical health, alongside her degree in Social Anthropology from Cambridge to bring a wealth of knowledge to her work.

Community Dance

Bronwen is really interested in social dancing and how movement can be used to help us feel good. She runs several community dance groups, most particularly a creative group for new parents and babies with Aneurin Bevan Perinatal Mental Health team. In the past she’s worked extensively in schools and with young people, with men’s groups and people with real mixed physical abilities. All bodies can and should move, and her work is person centred and strengths based.
